ALL THE INFO

The Full Story

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a writer. My Grandmother wrote poetry, letters, histories, and much more. She lived next door to our family when I was a little girl, and she was always writing. My first writings were poetry. My family would laud my creations as if Longfellow had written them. That’s how you grow an artist.  When I graduated high school my aptitude tests would all come back that writing was the area that I should study but we were practical people. What kind of job was an English major going to have?

I went to school to be a dental hygienist which has served me well. I was able to use the flexible hours and decent pay to raise a family and go to Bangor Theological seminary to earn a Masters of Divinity Degree.  I am now an ordained minister and a certified chaplain.

I have some disabilities now that prevents me from continuing as a Dental Hygienist, so I am a Jack of All Trades doing mostly freelance and per diem work as an instructor, a preacher, and a chaplain. My husband and I bought a beautiful old apartment house three years ago and so I am manager and chief maintenance person. Sometimes I do small projects for my sisters who restore vintage campers, and I build picnic tables. I enjoy making my own schedule and am able to spend time with my mom who is eighty-eight years old.

Now I want to add freelance writing to by repertoire. This blog is my way of sharing all things I’ve wanted to write as well as expanding my genres. It is a sampler and nothing more. I hope you will find something you enjoy. Grab a cup of tea and take some time to explore the blog, read something interesting, and feel free to reach out if you have ideas that you would like to see in writing.
